Kenadie’s Story

Age: 14
Age at diagnosis: 7
Lives in: Whitby, ON

Kenadie has been living with type 1 diabetes for seven years. She can’t remember a life without diabetes, a condition she has in common with her mother. They call themselves ‘blood sugar buddies’.

T1D has impacted Kenadie’s life as she ages. Waking up to treat low blood sugars in the middle of the night or feeling dizzy, nauseous and sick when her site fails and my blood sugars skyrocket means daily challenges.

Kenadie is proud to be an ambassador for JDRF. In her words, ‘I’ve met a lot of great people and had fun at all the fundraisers…but I’d trade all that in a second for a cure.’
