REVOLUTION RIDE TO DEFEAT DIABETES

Thanks to Montreal's generous sponsors and major partners in 2017

On behalf of those who are touched by Type 1 Diabetes, we would like to extend a warm thank you to participants, sponsors and volunteers for your support of the Revolution Ride to Defeat Diabetes 2017.

This past year, the Quebec Province and the region of Ottawa-Gatineau raised 1 million dollars for the research on Diabetes. We hope you enjoyed riding alongside us.

Thank you for your time and dedication.

We hope to see you again next year.

                      COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Bag of Hope

The Bag of Hope, sponsored by Roche Diagnostics (Accu-Chek), is a knapsack providing information to help newly diagnosed families cope with the challenges of living with diabetes. The complimentary bag includes the popular Rufus or Ruby bear, and a selection of informative brochures. Request a Bag of Hope from us or your local diabetes clinic.

Books for Families with Children and Teens Living with Type 1 Diabetes

At most diabetes clinics, you can pick up a free copy of two books made available by JDRF, which aim to inform and educate families about T1D. When a Child has Diabetes is written by Denis Daneman, Marcia Frank, and Kusiel Perlman. Le diabète chez l'enfant et l’adolescent is written by Louis Geoffroy and Monique Gonthier, a pediatrician at CHU Sainte-Justine.

Mentor Program

Our carefully screened mentors want to help others adjust during the emotional process of learning to live with and manage diabetes.

For more information, please contact Ana Isabel Otero.

Organize a Fundraising Event

Garage sale, bake sale, golf tournament, zumba marathon… all exciting ways to raise funds for JDRF and diabetes research. If you’d like to make a difference in the lives of those living with T1D, organize your own fundraising event.  It’s fun and rewarding.

If you’re planning on hosting an event in support of JDRF, we have a new user-friendly online system ready for you! “Fundraise Your Way” is a hassle-free way to collect donations, have participants join a team or purchase tickets to an event. Plan your event in support of JDRF today. If you’re interested in learning more, please visit  “Fundraise Your Way” or contact lcharbonneau@jdrf.ca.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Whether it's the TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes, the Ride for Diabetes Research, or any other JDRF event that takes place during the year, they all require a considerable amount of volunteer help.

This help can be pre-event, working on one of many committees involving recruitment of participants, solicitation of sponsorships for items and services, or day-of event duties such as registration, route supervision, kids activities, barbecue/refreshment area, etc.

Volunteers are the backbone of JDRF and their support is truly appreciated!

For more information, please contact benevoles@jdrf.ca.
