Dr. Riddell is Coming to Windsor!

Dr. Mike Riddell is coming to speak to Windsor! On December 6th, at Central Park Athletics at 6:30 PM, Dr. Riddell will be speaking on the effects of exercise on T1D. The Windsor YMCA will also be hosting a "silly science" program for kids 6-12 and there will be child care available for younger children. Special thanks to our friends at Medtronic for partnering with JDRF so this event could happen.

Dr. Riddell is an author on several international guidelines on exercise and diabetes and he leads teams in establishing community-based sport programs that enhance the translation of research findings to families of children living with type 1 diabetes. He is considered the international authority on exercise and stress hormones and how they affect diabetes metabolism.
Click Here to download the event flyer!

Please RSVP to Katie at kcorchis@jdrf.ca with the number of people attending the Dr. Riddell talk and the number of children that will be attending the science program or will need child care.

 What an Absolutely Amazing Ride!

From all of us at JDRF Windsor, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting the Ride in Windsor this year. Because of your hard work, Windsor's Ride is slated to raise over $17,000 for Type 1 Diabetes research!

All of you rode for a total of 431.95 kilometers--that's the same distance from Windsor to Oshawa! You put the pedal to the metal to help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. Thank you so much!

Thank you to all of our participants who raised funds to cure Type One Diabetes! We had over 600 people come out and walk for a cure. We appreciate each and every one of you! Thank you for helping JDRF find a cure for Type One! We would not be able to put on this walk without our Walk committee who work so hard all year. If you would like to join our walk committee, please email Katie Corchis at kcorchis@jdrf.ca. Thank you so much, Windsor!
