2017 REVOLUTION Ride to Defeat Diabetes

Thank you to everyone that participated in and supported the 2017 REVOLUTION Ride to Defeat Diabetes, presented by Sun Life Financial. Not even the rain could bring down the excitement and energy at Yonge-Dundas square! We hope you had an incredible day riding along with the amazing CycleBar instructors. Your support makes an impact to the over 300,000 Canadians living with Type 1 Diabetes and, because of you, we are one step closer to our goal of finding a cure!

Thank you to our Premier Partner, CycleBar Leaside, for their generous support and for providing us with 55 top-of-the-line spin bikes at the Toronto Ride this year!

On November 15th 2017, JDRF Toronto held our annual A Night of Promise gala at The Carlu, in downtown Toronto. The event was a huge success! We are thrilled to announce that we raised over $840,000 for T1D research, thanks to the generosity of our donors and sponsors, and the help of our incredible volunteers. We want to express our appreciation to everyone who supported A Night of Promise – whether you purchased tickets, donated or bought auction items, donated to Fund a Cure, sponsored the event, or volunteered your time – we couldn’t have done it without you!

Mentor Program

Your child has just been diagnosed with diabetes. What do you do now?

When a loved one is diagnosed with diabetes, it can be a traumatic and stressful time. Fear, sadness, anger and confusion about how to manage the disease can leave families feeling alone and overwhelmed.

You're not alone. JDRF's Mentor Program Volunteers can help.

JDRF’s Mentor Program can provide much-needed emotional support, information about diabetes resources, education about what families can do to help find a cure and, most of all, be a good listener. JDRF’s Family Network is free of charge, and we are here to help as long as you need it.

Please note that our volunteers are not healthcare professionals and are unable to provide medical advice for which you should consult your doctor or other healthcare professional.

If you would like to learn more about the JDRF Mentor Program, please visit the T1D Hub.

For more information, please contact us at 647-789-2000 or toronto@jdrf.ca.
