Thank you for moving research forward with us at the 2018 JDRF Revolution Ride to Defeat Diabetes, presented by Sun Life Financial

Wow, what an amazing time we had at the 2018 JDRF Revolution Ride to Defeat Diabetes, presented by Sun Life Financial! Hundreds of supporters from companies, community groups, and type 1 diabetes (T1D) families all over the Peel/Halton pedalled their hearts out this year, collectively clocking thousands of kilometers to move research forward with their teams. We are proud to work alongside 875 incredible riders raising over $130 thousand to date for a world without T1D!

THANK YOU to our riders for participating in this high-energy stationary cycling event, raising awareness and funds for JDRF and T1D. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and dedication are accelerating the pace of research aimed at treating, preventing, and curing T1D, and improving the lives of over 300,000 Canadians living with T1D.

 Upcoming Events

Thank you to all of our participants who raised funds to cure Type One Diabetes! We had over 1000 people come out and walk for a cure. So far we have raised over $193,000! We appreciate each and every one of you! Please remember that the walk website is live and accepting donations until the end of the year! Thank you for helping JDRF find a cure for Type One! We would not be able to put on this walk without our Walk committee who work so hard all year. If you would like to join our walk committee, please email Brittany Voorberg at bvoorberg@jdrf.ca.
Thank you so much, Mississauga!

Peel Chapter Community Engagement

Bag of Hope

JDRF is pleased to provide our complimentary Bag of Hope, which contains a variety of educational and reference materials to help newly diagnosed children and families along the way.

To learn more about the Bag of Hope program, please visit the T1D Hub.

Mentor Program

Your child has just been diagnosed with diabetes. What do you do now? When a loved one is diagnosed with diabetes, it can be a traumatic and stressful time. Fear, sadness, anger, and confusion about how to manage the disease can leave families feeling alone and overwhelmed.

You're not alone. JDRF's Mentor Program Volunteers can help.

JDRF’s Mentor Program can provide much-needed emotional support, information about diabetes resources, education about what families can do to help find a cure and, most of all, be a good listener. JDRF’s Family Network is free of charge, and we are here to help as long as you need it. Please note that our volunteers are not healthcare professionals and are unable to provide medical advice for which you should consult your doctor or other healthcare professional.

If you would like to learn more about the JDRF Mentor Program, please visit the T1D Hub.

For more information, please contact us at 905.608.8067 or peelhalton@jdrf.ca.
