JDRF House ParT1D for a Cure

Many thanks to the amazing families in the Hamilton Brantford and Niagara Regions who participated in the JDRF House ParT1D for a Cure.Your dedication to finding a cure, especially in these extremely difficult times, is very much appreciated.

We all missed being able to gather at our Walk venues this year, and supporting each other in person, but we did still manage to come together as a community in a virtual way, while raising over $2.1 Million for T1D research!

Our families and teams were very creative in their challenges and the ways they used to raise funds:

  • Sun Life District 26 Golden Horseshoe team members biked, hiked, walked on treadmills and made healthy smoothies (amongst many other creative ideas)
  • Chop the Mop (the name says it all) Their team captain Chris shaved his head for the cause
  • Abigail's Crew did a “Wheelie Challenge”

If you would like to share how your team was able to gather together virtually for the JDRF House ParT1D, please send your photo’s and a short description of what your challenge was to Anne at [email protected]

Once again, thank you all for your support.

Thank you to our local sponsors.

Volunteers Wanted

Whether it's the Sun Life Walk to Cure Diabetes for JDRF, the Sun Life Ride to Defeat Diabetes for JDRF, or any other JDRF event that takes place during the year, they all require a considerable amount of volunteer help.

This help can be pre-event, working on one of many committees involving recruitment of participants, solicitation of sponsorships for items and services, or day-of-event duties such as registration, route supervision, kids activities, barbecue/refreshment area, etc.

For information on the many volunteer opportunities available, please contact Anne Martin at 905.664.1432/1.866.602.6662 or email [email protected].

Volunteers are the backbone of JDRF and their support is truly appreciated!
