Together they raised over $12,000 for JDRF. We would also like to say thank you to the volunteers who assisted with the event, and to our Youth Ambassador Ava Shutt for sharing her story with the Riders before the event.

Many thanks to organizer Romeo Crugnale and his committee of volunteers from Feed the Social and Nosh Hamilton, and all the Chef’s and restaurants who took part in this competition. Over $5,000 was donated to JDRF.

Your child has just been diagnosed with diabetes – what do you do now? When a loved one is diagnosed with diabetes, it can be a traumatic and stressful time. Fear, sadness, anger, and confusion about how to manage the disease can leave families feeling alone and overwhelmed.
You are not alone – JDRF's Mentor Program Volunteers can help.
The Mentor Program can provide much needed emotional support, information about diabetes resources, education about what families can do to help find a cure, and most of all, be a good listener. JDRF's Family Network is free of charge, and we are here to help as long as you need it. Please note: our volunteers are not healthcare professionals, and are unable to provide specific medical advice, for which you should contact your doctor or other healthcare professional.
If you would like information about the Mentor Program, please contact Anne Martin at 905.664.1432/1.866.602.6662 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Whether it's the Walk to Cure Diabetes, the Revolution Ride to Defeat Diabetes, or any other JDRF event that takes place during the year, they all require a considerable amount of volunteer help.
This help can be pre-event, working on one of many committees involving recruitment of participants, solicitation of sponsorships for items and services, or day-of-event duties such as registration, route supervision, kids activities, barbecue/refreshment area, etc.
