2019 Meet a Machine

The premiere, family-affordable event in the Kamloops area with over 85 unique machines to see, including emergency response construction, forestry and mining, motorcycles, antiques and more, plus lots of booths and activities for kids of all ages. Our 2019 event is going to be bigger and better than ever!

2019 Sun Life Walk to Cure Diabetes for JDRF

T1D Community Support

JDRF has a number of programs and resources to help get you through a new diagnosis:

  • When a Child has Diabetes book - free book for parents of newly diagnosed children
  • Bag of Hope - free package of T1D information and Rufus, the bear with diabetes!
  • Mentorship - local program connecting the newly diagnosed (parents or self) with T1D veterans willing to share their knowledge and experience.
  • Support groups - local in person and Facebook community meet-ups for children, parents, and adults.

Swing Fore The Cure

September 7, 2019, The Dunes

150 golfers, 30 sponsors, 40 volunteers, and a goal of $40,000 for type 1 diabetes research!  Please join us for a fun-filled day that includes 18 holes of golf, a first-class dinner, silent auction, and prizes!  In the past 12 years, we have raised over $270,000, and we’re hoping 2019 will take us over the $300,000 mark!

2019 Annual Starlight Gala

The Starlight Gala is a uniquely styled evening filled with elegance and hope that includes dinner, entertainment, raffles, and both live and silent auctions.  Every year, between 150-200 local business and community leaders come together to celebrate the accomplishments we have made in T1D research, and to raise crucial funds so we can continue to drive the pace of T1D research.
