Swing Fore The Cure

September 7, 2019 - The Dunes

150 golfers, 30 sponsors, 40 volunteers, and a goal of $40,000 for type 1 diabetes research!  Please join us for a fun-filled day that includes 18 holes of golf, a first-class dinner, silent auction, and prizes!  In the past 12 years, we have raised over $270,000, and we’re hoping 2019 will take us over the $300,000 mark!

2019 Annual Starlight Gala

October 26, 2019 - Kelowna Yacht Club

The Starlight Gala is a uniquely styled evening filled with elegance and hope that includes dinner, entertainment, raffles, and both live and silent auctions.  Every year, between 150-200 local business and community leaders come together to celebrate the accomplishments we have made in T1D research, and to raise crucial funds so we can continue to drive the pace of T1D research.

T1D Community Support

JDRF breaks the barrier of isolation by connecting members of the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community to each other as well as opportunities to improve outcomes for people living with T1D.  Recognizing that diagnosis can take place at any age, and that T1D can impact your life decades after diagnosis, we offer a variety of services and opportunities to engage across the lifetime

Support & Connect At Diagnosis:

Bag of Hope: A free bag of resources including Rufus the T1D teddy bear

When a Child Has DiabetesA book covering everything you need to know about T1D when diagnosed

Adult Toolkit: A downloadable pdf of information for newly diagnosed adults

Talk T1D: A peer support program connecting you to trained volunteers living with T1D

T1D Aware: A presentation on T1D delivered by trained volunteers to your school, sports team etc

Support & Connect In Later Years:

Teen Youth Council: An online support network run by and for teens living with T1D

Talk T1D: Peer support with life-adjustments like pregnancy, retirement, or first jobs

T1D Insider: Regular emails with blogs about research and T1D lifestyle information

T1D Connect: Local free or low cost social and educational events for the T1D community

Advocacy: Join local, provincial and national campaigns to improve life for people living with T1D

2020 Meet a Machine

April 2020, more details to follow

 

The premiere, family-affordable event in the Kamloops area with over 85 unique machines to see, including emergency response construction, forestry and mining, motorcycles, antiques and more, plus lots of booths and activities for kids of all ages. Our 2019 event is going to be bigger and better than ever!
