Mentor Program

Your child has just been diagnosed with diabetes - what do you do now? When a loved one is diagnosed with diabetes, it can be a traumatic and stressful time. Fear, sadness, anger and confusion about how to manage the disease can leave families feeling alone and overwhelmed.

The Mentor Program can provide much needed emotional support, information about diabetes resources, education about T1D management, research and many more. JDRF's Family Network is free of charge, and we are here to help as long as you need it.

For more information or just someone to talk to who has walked in your shoes, please reach out to monctont1dfamily@outlook.com.

Volunteering

Whether it's the Walk to Cure Diabetes, the Ride for Diabetes Research, or any other JDRF event that takes place during the year, they all require a considerable amount of volunteer help.

This help can be pre-event, like working on a committee and helping with participant recruitment, sponsorship solicitation, etc, as well as day-of-event duties, including registration, route supervision, kids activities, refreshment area, etc.

For information on the many volunteer opportunities available, please contact Gilles Gallant at 506.227.5365 or e-mail ggallant@jdrf.ca.

Volunteers are the backbone of JDRF and their support is truly appreciated!
