Insulet, makers of Omnipod

Ensuring continued funding of vital research during the pandemic.

Insulet Corporation is world leader in tubeless insulin pump technology with its Omnipod® Insulin Management System and has been a long-time supporter of numerous JDRF affiliates, including here in Canada.

When COVID-19 hit, it was clear that one of our largest and most successful in-person fundraisers, the Sun Life Walk to Defeat Diabetes would have to be dramatically altered to be safe for participants. From this, the JDRF House ParT1D for a Cure presented by Omnipod® was born.

This one-day, family-friendly event brought the T1D community together (virtually) in an online house party to raise funds for T1D research and advance JDRF along the path towards a world without type 1 diabetes. It offered a fun opportunity to get loud while fundraising, and included a host of celebrities, including Max Domi, Gloria Loring, Bobby Clarke, Geoge Canyon, Sébastien Sasseville and more.

Insulet came on board as presenting sponsor for a new and untested fundraiser. Without their crucial support, the event could not have been as successful. The House ParT1D for a Cure presented by Omnipod® was held on June 14, 2020, and raised over $2.5 million, an incredible total for a new event held amid the pandemic.

We sincerely thank Insulet for their years of incredibly generous support, and particularly for helping us continue to advance our research during this past year of uncertainty. They consistently prove that they are committed to ensuring a better quality of life for the over 300,000 Canadians living with T1D today, and a world one day free from diabetes.
