Unrestricted Bequest

An unrestricted bequest allows you to direct your gift to the area of research that is in the greatest need of funding.

Example:
“I give Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada the sum of $_______ OR _______ per cent of my estate to be directed to the area of research in greatest need of funding as per JDRF Canada. “

Residual Bequest

A residual bequest directs the proceeds remaining from your estate after all taxes, debts and expenses have been fulfilled.

Example:
“I give Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada, all OR _____ per cent of the remaining value of my estate.”

Contingent Bequest

A contingent bequest allows the individual to designate property or funds to JDRF only if specific individuals do not survive.

“I give Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada $_______ OR _______ per cent of my estate if (name beneficiaries) do not survive me.”
