You Asked, We Answered!
With the TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes less than a week away, we wanted to answer some of the questions we have received across Canada to make event day as smooth as possible.
Q. What do I need to bring on event day?
A. Please bring your pledge form(s) and donations, and online Fundraising Summary (if applicable) with you on event day. Ensure all information is complete, clear and legible. All forms and funds must be submitted to the Registration Area on Walk day.
Q. What should I wear?
A. Dress appropriately for the weather in your location, and ensure you wear your most comfortable walking shoes!
Q. Can I run, in-line skate, ride my bike and/or bring my dog?
A. Please check with your local JDRF office as certain Walk sites may have some restrictions.
Q. What if I don’t raise $100?
A. Our goal, through the fundraising efforts of our participants, is to raise $8 million to help support critical research. We are confident that each participant can raise $100 and are pleased to offer support/advice on exceeding your goal (Read our previous entries on Fundraising tips for the office, Fundraising tips for Family Teams, and Last minute fundraising ideas). If you don’t reach the minimum suggested fundraising amount by Walk day, you can pledge yourself the difference to reach $100 and be eligible for great fundraising prizes!
Q. Who should I call if I have more questions?
A. You have several options; you can:
- contact your local JDRF office;
- contact the National Support Office at 1.877.287.3533;
- e-mail us at email@example.com; or
- for complete details, dates and the latest updates on the TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes in your area, visit our website at jdrf.ca/walk.
