What are your Thanksgiving tips?
Holidays, like Thanksgiving, are joyous times with friends and family. But get-togethers often mean food... and lots of it!
Take pumpkin pie, for example. I used to think that if I had just a taste of it, that would satisfy my urge for a traditional Thanksgiving dessert. The problem is that one tiny sliver of pie leads me to another, and then another. The next thing I know, I'm loitering in the kitchen with my fork just waiting for the opportunity to devour just one more sliver when nobody's looking!
So I've come to the realization, knowing myself, that it's best to pass on the pie entirely. Of course, I'm only human, so of course I'm going to indulge every once in a while but I must say, if I can walk away from a meal knowing that I exercised my willpower as best as possible, I feel pretty good.
