Volunteers drive JDRF

Like many not-for-profit organizations, JDRF relies on the time, effort, and (of course) funds raised by volunteers. We couldn't do what we do so efficiently and effectively without their dedication and tireless support.

They do so much for us. They organize golf tournaments, sit on Gala committees and spend a large portion of their year putting baskets together for silent auction prizes, and they sell tables and tickets to friends and friends of friends. They come out on the morning of the event and decorate the room, and then transform themselves into elegant volunteers in their best gala wear for the evening.

Then there are the volunteers who govern JDRF. We must not forget that, while we are staffed by professionals across the country, we also report to a board of directors who provide us with guidance, direction, and support. They give their time to all of our fundraising events, in addition to attending numerous board and governance meetings throughout the year.

JDRF was founded by parents of children living with type 1 diabetes. Many of those families are still involved with JDRF to this day. We will be forever grateful for their vision then, as well as their guidance now and in the future.

Want to know how you can get involved with JDRF? Thank you for your support.
