Travelling with type 1 diabetes

With March break right around the corner, many families are getting ready to travel and have an adventure. For someone with type 1 diabetes (T1D), it is important to remember a few things before you leave home for extended periods of time.

Prepare, prepare, prepare! There is no such thing as being too prepared. Always have necessary items with you while you are travelling. Make sure that you have taken precautions and can be ready for different circumstances.

To help take some of the stress of travel preparations, JDRF Canada has developed a toolkit that gives great tips and tricks to remember when you are travelling. Learn more about this toolkit.

Safe travels!
