November 14 is World Diabetes Day

JDRF is excited to announce the release of the new and improved Adult Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Toolkit. This Toolkit has been created to assist adults transitioning to self-management of the disease as well as newly diagnosed adults who may be starting out on a new and unfamiliar road. With T1D things don’t always make sense and it can be frustrating for those without support. The toolkit is there to guide people living with T1D through all stages of life and answer any questions that can arise as they go through life with T1D.

The Toolkit covers a wide range of areas, from diagnosis and the transition to self-management of the disease, to explaining the disease to others in your life such as family, friends and coworkers. The toolkit also includes new sections on T1D and mental health as well as best practices for insulin injection. Other sections of the toolkit include, T1D and Work, individual chapters on T1D in Men & Women, and much more.

JDRF is proud to offer this valuable resource to the T1D community across Canada and would like to thank BD Medical – Diabetes Care and Novo Nordisk Canada Inc. for their generous contributions to help fund the Toolkit.
