FAQs for Ride Day

With the JDRF Ride for Diabetes Research quickly approaching, we wanted to answer some frequently asked questions to make sure Ride day runs as smooth as possible.

Q. How long do I ride the bike?

A. Each team member rides the bike for a seven minute (plus a 1 minute cool down) interval over the course of 40 minutes.

Q. What do I need to bring on Event day?

A. On the day of the Ride, you will need to hand in your fundraising donations. For funds raised online, you can print your online fundraising summary and bring a copy on Ride day. You can locate this from your fundraising profile, under “Event Info”.  Funds raised offline also need to be handed in on Ride day. Make sure you bring in all of your team’s completed pledge forms, cash and cheques.

Q. What should I wear?

A. If the Ride in your location is outside, be sure to check the weather that morning and dress appropriately. Many teams choose to wear a costume or to represent their company by dressing in their corporate colours. This is a fun way to create team spirit.

Q. How will I know when my team is riding?

A. JDRF will send you a Ride time confirmation the week of the Ride.  We ask that you arrive 30 minutes prior to your ride time in order to submit your donations and pledge forms at registration.

Q. What if someone on my team drops out? Can we still participate?

A. Yes! If someone on your team can’t participate you can look for a last-minute Rider to substitute them.  Bring the original rider’s pledge form and dollars raised on Ride day and at registration the new rider will have to indicate in whose place they are riding. All substitute riders must sign a waiver form to participate. If you cannot find a substitute rider, one of the existing team members can ride twice.

Q. What if every team member was not able to raise the suggested amount of $125? Can we still participate?

A. We are confident that every participant can reach the $125 fundraising level and are pleased to offer support and advice so you can exceed this target.  We offer great incentive prizes to encourage your team members to raise as much money as they can.

Q. Who should I contact if I have more questions?

A. If you have more questions about Ride day you can:
