Netra refuses to let her Type 1 Diabetes slow her down. She is certified in babysitting, first aid, and CPR, and is currently training to achieve her black belt. She has participated in JDRF events in order to raise awareness and funds towards research for a cure. Netra is passionate about sharing her experience with others and has written speeches, papers, and other assignments on the topic of diabetes. She hopes to one day become an endocrinologist specializing in pediatrics and to advocate for chronically ill women of colour.
