LET’S WALK THE WALK…TOGETHER

Come one - come all to the annual TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes

Plans are well under-way for the 2013 TELUS Walk and we want to share this wonderful day of celebration with all of you so, if you’ve participated before or never before, it’s time to join… visit us online and register your team today.

We welcome family teams, corporate teams, organizational teams and individuals alike for a 5km walk at the CNE on Sunday June 9 (rain or shine).

Can’t attend our day-of celebration; not a problem, pledges are not reflective of the kilometers you walk so you can still fundraise even if you can’t participate.  Register with us online as usual and begin your fundraising today.

NEW FOR 2013! Sponsor a FACES OF DIABETES sign for $50 to be displayed along route on event day and then yours to take home.  If you can't be at the event, we can coordinate pick-up or delivery post-event.
Anyone can sponsor a FACES OF DIABETES sign; grandparents, neighbours, even colleagues so, feel free to share this with your personal and/or professional network(s).
Every 18"x24" sign is customized for each T1D and constructed of 4mil, corrugated plastic for durability.
Visit www.flashburnpromotions.com and select Faces of Courage -> Diabetes -> JDRF Toronto/York and complete the request form to personalize your sign.

Thank you to those who have already joined our TELUS Walk community and congratulations to our Top Fundraisers.

A heartfelt thanks to our Chairs and Committee Members for all their hard-work in helping JDRF reach our 2013 TELUS Walk goal... we can't do it without you.

IT’S TEE TIME

Time to tee off another Great Escape; we celebrated big last year, in honour of the event’s 10th anniversary but that isn’t stopping us from making this year just as exciting.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make last year’s Great Escape so memorable.  If you’ve never joined us, there’s always room for new golfers and if you like to golf, you’ll love The Great Escape.

The Great Escape is an annual golf trip generously supported by BMO Financial Group, that anticipates our golfers’ every desire; a private flight, luxurious accommodations and golf at a prestigious course or two.

The destination for 2013 is Nova Scotia and the dates are Monday, August 26 to Wednesday, August 28 at two exclusive, oceanfront courses; Cabot Links (ranked #1 new course in Canada by Golf Digest) and Highland Links (ranked #7 in Canada by Golf Digest).

Stay tuned right here for everything you'll need to know.  If you have any questions about our Great Escape Golf Event, please contact Ron Depaola at rdepaola@jdrf.ca or 647-789-2042.

RIDING PROUD

We did it…you did it… you helped us raise over $3 million for 2012, thank you so much.

For anyone who has not participated in our Ride for Diabetes Research event before, it’s a team based event whereby five riders take turns on a stationary bike.  In celebration of the 70’s which was when JDRF was founded, we themed 2012 around DISCO and it was our grooviest event to-date.

This year, we’re celebrating the Ride’s 25th Anniversary and what better way to party then with Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Join any or all of our Rides; Toronto Ride - September 26, York Ride - October 9 and Real Estate Ride - (date TBC).

Find out more about our Rides and how you can be a part of them by joining us for our Kick-off event on May 24 at the Design Exchange.  For more details, contact Cara Ravesi at cravesi@jdrf.ca or 647-789-2020.
