2015 Toronto Promise Ball - A 'Fun'draising Gala

Since the very first Toronto Promise Ball in the early 80’s, this amazing event has raised over $19 million - critical funds that have been directed to the most promising and innovative diabetes research.

Although the format has changed over the years, the event continues to be one of the largest and most successful galas in Toronto. With a focus on great food, entertainment, amazing auction items and raffle prizes, and the opportunity to support the ground breaking research being funded by JDRF, the 2015 Promise Ball continued this tradition.

This year, the Promise Ball took place on World Diabetes Day, Saturday, November 14, 2015 and over 500 people attended.

What a night it was! The tremendous support we received from everyone raised over $700,000 to fund research which will help JDRF achieve its goal of curing type 1 diabetes (T1D), while improving the lives of people living with the disease. The Promise Ball also increased awareness of the disease and its complications for the guests who attended.

The theme for the gala was Back and Into the Future. During the cocktail hour, guests perused the wonderful array of items in the Silent Auction items and had their photo taken in front of the amazing DeLorean Time Machine. The formal portion of the evening opened with Marty McFly and Doc Brown introducing Jessica Holmes who served as MC for the evening. Guests enjoyed a fabulous dinner, listened to the 1950’s music of Robert Yeretch and Jamie McRoberts and bid on the outstanding Live Auctions items. During Fund A Cure, the highlight of the evening, they heard personal stories from teens and adults living with T1D and had the opportunity to donate directly to research.

If you would like to contribute to the Promise Ball and the research being funded by JDRF,  please click  Making a donation or contact Sharon Anisman at or 647-789-2010.

Your support will help JDRF accelerate the discovery, development, and delivery of advances that cure, better treat, and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D).

Thank you to all 5,181 riders that came out to support our Real Estate, Toronto and York Rides this year and raised over $1.4m for diabetes research.  We look forward to seeing you all again in 2016!
