Thank you for rallying with us to find a cure for diabetes!

On behalf of JDRF and the more than 300,000 Canadians living with type 1 diabetes (T1D), thank you for participating in our 2017 JDRF TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes! Because of people like you, this year's Walk has already raised over $260,000, but the fundraising doesn't stop here! You can still collect donations online or send them to our office with an accompanying pledge form until the end of the year.

Peel Chapter Community Engagement

Bag of Hope

JDRF is pleased to provide our complimentary Bag of Hope, which contains a variety of educational and reference materials to help newly diagnosed children and families along the way.

To learn more about the Bag of Hope program, please visit the T1D Hub.

Mentor Program

Your child has just been diagnosed with diabetes. What do you do now? When a loved one is diagnosed with diabetes, it can be a traumatic and stressful time. Fear, sadness, anger, and confusion about how to manage the disease can leave families feeling alone and overwhelmed.

You're not alone. JDRF's Mentor Program Volunteers can help.

JDRF’s Mentor Program can provide much-needed emotional support, information about diabetes resources, education about what families can do to help find a cure and, most of all, be a good listener. JDRF’s Family Network is free of charge, and we are here to help as long as you need it. Please note that our volunteers are not healthcare professionals and are unable to provide medical advice for which you should consult your doctor or other healthcare professional.

If you would like to learn more about the JDRF Mentor Program, please visit the T1D Hub.

For more information, please contact us at 905.608.8067 or peelhalton@jdrf.ca.
