Riverfront Park, Moncton NB

The Riverfront Park in downtown Moncton will be a rocking good time on Sunday, June 9, as we gather together again for a fun filled family day raising funds for Diabetes Research.

We will have games, face painting, popcorn, prizes and a BBQ along with live music to brighten up your day.  If you haven't Walked with us before find out how easy it is to put a team together.  If it has been awhile since you had a team walk, we would love to have you back! We miss you!

New this year! A 5 km Run

This year in conjunction with The Running Room we will be launching our first Run for Diabetes Research! This 5 km run will start at 1:45 pm from the Riverfront Park as well.  Sign up at jdrf.ca/walk or go to the Running Room Race Site for more information.

It's a great day to catch up with others who care deeply for our T1D family.  Hope to see you there!  For more information call 857-4255 or moncton@jdrf.ca

You are not alone… Parent Support Group

When a loved one is diagnosed with diabetes, it can be a traumatic and stressful time. Fear, sadness, anger, and confusion about how to manage the disease can leave families feeling alone and overwhelmed. For more information or just someone to talk to who has walked in your shoes contact our Outreach Volunteers Gerry at  gallain@nbnet.nb.ca or Kelley at kelley.annv29@gmail.com

Our Outreach Volunteers work hard to plan activities for families with loved ones with T1D, be sure to be let us know if you want to be included in these invitations. This is an excellent opportunity to reach out and talk to moms, dads and kids who know the ropes.  You can also contact our office at 857-4255 for updates.

Back by popular demand! Touch-A-Truck presented by Armour Transportation Systems brings together over 50 vehicles from the transportation industry to the Coliseum parking lot for children and parents to explore and have fun!  Last year we had a fire truck, RCMP helicopter, payloaders, tanks and other army vehicles, a stretch limo along with snowplows and more!  Come check out what's new this year!  Great opportunity for family photos.  The Cavendish Fry Wagon will be on site again this year. Best fries ever! Sponsorship opportunities are available to local businesses who want to support this event and assist in sending local school children to the fun family day.  Volunteers are greatly needed to make this huge event a success again this year.  Contact our office at 857-4255 or moncton@jdrf.ca for information of Sponsorship or Volunteering.
