Drive 4UR Community
On Saturday, May 25, 2013, Fairley & Stevens Ford of Dartmouth along with JDRF Halifax will host our first Drive 4UR Community at the Bedford Place Mall, 1658 Bedford Hwy. For every test drive, Ford will donate $20 to JDRF. Invite your friends, neighbors and family members to drop by for a test drive on some great vehicles while supporting a great cause!

The JDRF Ride for Diabetes Research is a high-energy stationary ride that brings together more than 23,000 business leaders and employees from across Canada. Join with 4 others to register your team.
The 2013 Ride for Diabetes will take place on Friday, November 1, 2013, at the World Trade & Convention Centre, Halifax, NS.

Outreach
D-Teens
The D-teens are youth ages 12-17 who are living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Adolescence brings its own special challenges to any family, and diabetes adds another layer to these trying years. D-Teens was formed with the specific needs and challenges of this group in mind.
This group gives teens and "tweens" the opportunity to connect with their D-peers, while enjoying activities designed for teens. Keep checking back here to stay tuned for upcoming events.
Family Support Group - Halifax and Cape Breton
Family Support Group meetings are held monthly in Halifax and Cape Breton. It is a parent support group that meets monthly to provide support, conversation, and a break for those parents/caregivers of youth living with T1D. An informal meeting, it gives parents an opportunity to discuss the issues they face each day, as well as share experiences that may help newly diagnosed families.

Fundraising in Your Community (Third Party Events)
What is a third party event? It is a fundraising event for JDRF, organized independently by an outside (third) party.
If your company, club, or group is interested in helping raise funds for JDRF, there are many ways to do so. From raffles to barbecues, bake sales, garage sales, car washes, and golf tournaments, the only limit is your imagination!
If you are interested in hosting an event or would like more information, contact the JDRF office.
Volunteer Opportunities
