2012 Diabetes Research Symposiums

JDRF’s Research Symposiums are an opportunity to update supporters on the latest diabetes research funded by JDRF and hear from motivational speakers.

Over the past 38 years, the pace and innovation of diabetes research progress that is funded by JDRF, has been dramatic:

• JDRF has moved more research into human clinical trials than in its previous 38 years of research funding combined. We currently fund more than 53 human clinical trials, compared to five in 2000.

• JDRF is speeding the pace of research by engaging industry. We have over 20 industry partnerships, in every area of research from stopping the immune response to regenerating and replacing beta cells to developing an artificial pancreas.

• JDRF is improving lives today by developing an artificial pancreas. This device combines continuous glucose monitors with insulin pumps, joined by a computer algorithm, to deliver insulin when needed based on glucose levels.

This Spring, we invite you to come and listen to the latest updates presented by leading researchers and hear inspiring stories by guest speakers. To obtain information about your local Research Symposium, please refer to the schedule below.
