JDRF was founded in 1974 by parents of children living with diabetes. These founding parents were volunteers, and the spirit of volunteerism is what drives everything that JDRF does.
JDRF relies on hundreds of volunteers to pursue our mission of curing type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications through the support of research. These dedicated individuals, families, and companies commit time, money, service, and energy to the search for a cure. We couldn't do it without them!
Volunteers are a valuable asset, and are critical to the success of our events, as well as to our larger research funding goals. Each year, JDRF needs a virtual army of volunteers to ensure that our special events are successful! By donating time and energy, volunteers allow us to contribute more dollars to our ongoing research efforts.
For many volunteers, the opportunity to offer special skills and expertise, meet new people, promote JDRF’s cause in their communities, and to know that their efforts are contributing towards finding a cure keeps them involved and committed to JDRF.
To our amazing volunteers we say, thank you. Thank you for your passion, hope, and caring. JDRF wouldn’t have made it this far without you. We look forward to your continued involvement as every day gets us one step closer to the reality of a cure for T1D.
Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, bringing a range of skill sets and experiences to JDRF. Whatever your talents, we need you! Please consider becoming a JDRF volunteer. We truly appreciate your time.
