Legacy For Life
Give the gift of a lifetime with a planned gift.
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a devastating disease that strikes children and adults suddenly, and lasts a lifetime. A planned gift with JDRF, allows you to help support JDRF’s research goals: to cure, better treat and prevent T1D, and will make a difference for future generations. Planned giving allows you to express your values and leave your mark on the world. It also allows you to fulfill your charitable goals and provides significant tax savings.
What is a planned gift?
A planned gift is a donation you make during your lifetime, but which JDRF will not receive until sometime in the future. There are several different types of planned gifts including:
Bequest – Bequests are donations left to JDRF through your will and can include, cash, securities, stock, real estate or percentage of real estate.
RRSP/RRIF Funds – Donate the assets remaining in your retirement plan to JDRF after your death.
Gifts of Life Insurance – You can make a significant donation to JDRF by donating a new or existing life insurance policy.
Appreciated Securities – Donate stock and securities to JDRF and avoid paying capital gains tax.
Property – A gift of property, real estate or valuable goods can make a substantial difference for JDRF.
