Advocates needed for Manitoba Lobby Day
Help us extend insulin pump coverage to people of all ages
Manitoba Lobby Day 2017 is an opportunity to make a difference. This November, 10 advocates living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) will travel to the Manitoba Legislative Building to share with Members of the Legislative Assembly their experience living with T1D and the importance of extending insulin pump coverage to people of all ages.
Manitoba should follow the lead of Alberta, Ontario, Nunavut, North West Territories, and Yukon – provinces and territories which already cover insulin pump costs for all residents. Manitobans are left without public coverage between ages 18 and 60. Insulin pumps should be provided for everyone living with T1D regardless of age.
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with T1D? JDRF is seeking 10 Manitoban delegates aged 15-64 who would be interested in attending a lobby day event at the Manitoba Legislative Building on November 8-9, 2017. Transportation, accommodation and meal costs will be covered for each advocate selected to participate.
Apply here by August 9, 2017 at 12 pm (noon) CDT. Successful applicants will be contacted in early September. There are two parts to the application process for this event: (1) the application form below and (2) a video you must record and post on social media telling your Manitoba government why they need to extend insulin pump coverage to all ages! (Full application details below).
